Hunger Pains

This painting is done on an actual longhorn steer hide. The hair is on the back side. It is stretched between two rooms as a divider. It is roughly 6′ X 7′. These cowboys have been driving these tired hungry beasts for days and are anxious to get home because they are tired and hungry as well. We have one steer trying his best to get to greener pastures, and over the rise are coming a handful of men who are also looking for food. “Hunger Pains” is a good name for this piece don’t you think?
